hmmm.. invest in banks? interesting!

Stock markets are just at the beginning of a larger rally which could see the major indexes jump another 20-to-30 percent and banks are the best bet, Michael Browne, portfolio manager from Sofaer Global Research, told CNBC. “We are going to see an earnings rise from 2009 to 2010 … We are very much at the early stage of this rally,” Browne told CNBC.
Investors should look to banking stocks as “you’ve got to look at where people are not invested,” he said.
The banking sector is where the problem is being solved, which is why it could lead the recovery from here, according to Browne.
Banks led the recent bounce in the stock market with most financial shares rising sharply. But many investors are wary of ploughing cash into a sector that still recovering from a major crisis of confidence.
The recent fund manager’s survey from Banc of America Securities-Merrill Lynch showed confidence in global stocks was improving fast. But Browne points out that the survey shows a lack of interest in banks.
“Amazingly the Merrill survey out this week shows that people are still and increasingly underweight banks, it is quite barking mad,” Browne said.
“Everything I see from every survey from every direction tells me that the vast majority of portfolio managers are not positioned for this at all,” he said.

1st game- how well you know about you personal mentors?
tee hee hee! i thought ms wai lin is single..
but when she told us that she has 2 children.. i was so shocked! LOL
mr michael from england? lol initially if you just met up with him.. maybe ya.. you'll think so.. but he's an aussie!!! (a compatriot of miss poppy! xD )
2nd game- blindfold!
i paired up with ethane!!! :D poppilogist paired with christina..hema with lu er.. gene with dianna.. leslie with kok leong..
elaine was really a good guide! the objective of the game is "trust".
3rd game- spider web!
it's all about teamwork and trust..
all went through the spider web! it was really fun!
the biggest joke: withdrawal of insurance from AIA (cos AIG in trouble due to sub prime mortgage crisis)
4th game- log game!
stand on the log at random heights.. objective: to arrange ourselves according to tallest to shortest without falling off the log. then we had our group photo!! :D
5th game- blindfold reversal.. this time.. elaine's being blindfolded!! :D and she nearly banged into the dustbin! :D
6th game- hunter tree and squirrel.. LOL!
last game- bus ride.. is your's a pleasent or unpleasent?
it really made a lot of sense..

whether good or bad.. depends on passengers.. us.

yesterday.. 2 major places were being launched..

1. KPE
2.Kallang Leisure Park

i came to kallang leisure park with anticipation.. cos the ads give a feeling that going there it's a wonderful experience.
however when i went there.. all the stores were open.. but it gave me a feeling that i was stepping into an empty mall..
ok.. it was fun in the sense there were 2 mascots.. clowns on high stilts..LOL!
they made poor blender feel very short!!
plsssss... pls give blender 30cm of your height...

the mall got ice skating rink..bowling alley.. k box.. arcade games..
since yesterday was the opening of the mall.. there were performances..
the performance which made me and my family laughed was the bellyh dancers..
ok.. it was not about the performance.. but what my mother's comments..

" ai yo! how come they ask plump ladies to dance?!" (they are like.. around 40 plus?)

"lol! some did not shave arm pit hairs!" (cos they were wearing barebacks!!)

ok.. not to be mean.. but i admire their confidence and courage displayed on stage. (:

after the kallang leisure park.. we went home.. but since we were at kallang.. might as while try KPE..
OMG! KPE got 16 ERP gantries!!! worst of all..speed limit is 7OKM/HR!!

LOL! i'm back to post my bulletin! been busy past few days.. (working? NAH...)

1st sept:
went out with mangosteen m'am. things just went very wrong.

1. supposed to meet at harbourfront station at 10am, but we met at 12 noon!!
ok.. none of us overslept. it's just that we spent 30 freakin minutes just to contact peach!
sigh.. in the end peach did not join us.. citing so many excuses. (long story)

2. had everything ready..until when the train reached potong pasir.. i found out that i have forgotten to bring our packed food! ahhhhhh!!!!! alighted the train.. only to have found out that that the train going towards punggol just left! now great! had to wait 6 minutes for the next train. anyways, mangosteenie was still queuing up at the post office. had to walk from kovan station to my house..my house to kovan station and that's like... 20 mins walk. o.O when i reached kovan station.. mangosteenie (who took 143 from toa payoh interchange) called to say that she has just reached harbourfront!!!!!! OMG! and when i told her why i was late.. she laughed! =.="

3. wanted to go sentosa to sun tan and do something special.. but when we reached harbourfront.. IT RAINED!!!!! i ask you.. raining..how to go sun tan???? :(

4. spent $4 plus.. bought vodka which tasted like... medicine.. > <"

5. i just don't understand.. what is it so fun about stepping on my foot?! i kerna so many times until i too lazy to count!

6. my face got whacked by starbucks cafe's door! and guess who did it? it's a bloody ang mo kid! wah lao! injured other people don't know how to say " sorry" meh?!

stayed at home.. cos too lazy to go out. watched stock markets and news the whole day. nearly spoiled the microwave cos i pressed wrong button.. lol.. but it turned out ok..

watched cnbc's "squawk on the street" where they monitor the market's movements at the financial capitals of the world..New York Stock Exchange. and there was this breaking news which somehow seems to be a good news for all..

went back smss to return the certs..( my ex class peoples') then headed to IMM (2nd time in my holidays) to meet my other group of friends. took 174 to M.I (really lurves that place!), then from there change to 506.. sit all the way to jurong east interchange. met them at kopitiam.. chatted chatted chatted.. eat..eat..eat.. after eating, we went to take photos with kiddy rides (you know those which look like furry animals.. yah) and the elephant one played our favourite song- OLD MAC DONALD HAD A FARM!!!!!! LOL!
haha! in the end.. they were late for class! and somemore their school is like in.. commonwealth?!lol
they go school.. i went to bugis.. for wad?*it's a secret! ;)
library super crowded! manged to get a table in the children's section. but around 6 plus..it's not so crowded. but weird.. a woman playing.. UNO stress with her 2 daughters in the library..so noisy!it's weird cos the library is a place for people to read books..not to play games!
oh yes! i finnally got to eat my hot and spicy tofu with rice at the foodcourt! yummy!! anyways..just nice! it was cold and rainy outside.. that dish kept me warm (:

HAPPY TEACHERS DAY TO ALL MY TEACHERS! (:

Went back to M.I to visit everyone. LOL! Met my 2 M.I friends, Karen and Kanages. OMG! I really missed them a lot cos it has been ages since I last them! Went with Bao Bei to look for Darling.Surprisingly, all the other chers still remembered who am I. LOL!
OMG! Darling has grown taller and she is still as chio as eva! We chatted about many things.. P.A.E.. Gossiped about Bao Bei..

Olympics Closing Ceremony

Sigh.. time really flies.. one of the most anticipated events draws to a close. Yeps.. it's the 2008 Beijing Olympics. It's no doubt, the most spectecular Olympics ever held.

Olympic records.. World Records.. all being broken.

In the Water Cube, USA's golden boy - Michael Phelps, broke Mark Spitzer's records of 7 gold medals in a single Olympic game. He got 8 gold medals.

On the atheletics track, Jamaica's Usain Bolt (also known as Thunder Bolt) broke 3 world records in the 100m, 200m and 4x100m relay.

However something happened, and it shocked the homecrowds of 1.3 billion people - Liu Xiang being pulled out of the 110m hurdles, due to injury.

Most of all, not forgetting Team Singapore!!! Yes! 1st medal in 48yrs! :D

Swimmer Tao Li- the first Singaporean to be qualified in the swimming FINALS and breaking 2 ASIAN RECORDS!

Swimmer Quah Ting Wen- finnishing 1st in swimming heats

Table Tennis Women's Team (Li Jiawei, Wang Yuegu and Feng Tianwei ) SILVER MEDALISTS IN TABLE TENNIS TEAM

Though not all of the atheletes return home with a medal, I must say that they have displayed good sportsmanship, be it winning or losing. As the matter of fact, that's the Olympic Spirit-SPORTSMANSHIP.

let me start of with a short story, guess some know of this.

"once upon a time, there was a community of tiny frogs. one day, a group of frogs discovered a tall tower. one of the frogs said : "hey!why not we have a race?see who will reach the top of the tower first!" the other frogs agreed that it was a good idea.
the next day, the entire frog community gathered around to watch the match.the audience cried out :"don't climb the tower!it's dangerous!you might loose your life!"
some of the frogs found it tiring, and soon gave up.
the next day,the audience cried out to the contestants :"GIVE UP!IT'S DANGEROUS AND TIRRING!"
as days passed by,more and more frogs gave up the climb till...........
there it was ..the smallest frog still climbing the tower.
"GIVE UP MAN!YOU'LL NEVER MAKE IT UP THE TOWER WITH YOUR THIS SIZE!"
it climbed..and climbed..and climbed....
in the end, the smallest frog won the competition."

just because we are the last class , does not mean that we are the lousiest in studies.

went back 2 m.i 4 their sports dae..took mrt w hema n qianning..chatted laughed..chatted..laughed..lol..waited 4 andrey n johnny (johnaton)4 30 mins!!!got a bit pissed off cos i desperately needed 2 buang air kecil..reached m.i..hui shan was waiting 4 us outside m.i bus stop..went in..hui shan was damn funny..we saw dis cher who took us 4 p.e during p.a.e at e entrance..we were not in m.i attire..hui shan still wanted 2 ask e cher whether we can enter..lol..laughed our asses off..went 2 look 4 chers..i saw my econs cher at e canteen..chatted chatted chatted..showed her my ipct report..she got a shocked of her life...LOL
saw nat..one of my m.i p.a.e classmates..she's in cheerleading at garnet house..n we went 2 see her cheerleading performance..saw me geog cher..still pretty as eva..lol..*censored..

YAY!2dae's elaine's b dae!at first we wanted 2 go ichiban sushi 2 celebrate ethane's b dae..but lim lao niang says dat fish n co got b dae promotion..10 % discount..ice cream..n b dae rap?!me n huixin shared new york fish set meal..cos we have small tummies..lol..clam chowder soup was a bit too salty..but nice..karin n lao niang bought b dae cake..ooo..it was a fruit cake w white choc..yummy!:p lol..sang b dae song 4 elaine..n one e v nice fish n co crew member helped us took a pic..it was awesome!hmmmm...li wei was e outstanding person in e grp..cos he's e onli boy there..but orh bei was there..den he's not so outstanding..cos she's e onli e hei hei while e rest all bai bai..lol..
we rushed over 2 sch cos we thought we were late 4 e sgh thing..plus were supposed 2 meet n assemble at nyp's blk p carpark..but heng arh!!we arrived b4 cher..man it was really damn funny siah!lim lao niang said something funny 2 cher..cher said dat if anything happens..lao niang will be responsible..lol..when chewr asked 4 her name..we were like laughing n told cher dat her name is LIM LAO NIANG..but cher pronounced it as LIM LONG YIANG!!!!LOL!!!!!!laughed until stomach ache..e most irritatin thing was dis cher..haiz..followed e others called me..HIIIIII..let me make dis clear..NAME IS HAI YI BELINDA..NOT HIIIII OR BLENDER..LOL
in e bus..was delighted 2 find dat dis bus has safety belts..lol..so i happily strapped myself..but dis cracked my frens up..dunno which fella said i looked like a tourist..or a sua goo..lol..safety comes 1st lorx..lol..bus jam break..poor kaaaaaaaaaaaa lin bumped her head cos she was'nt strepped wif a safety belt..lol..see..dis is a conscequence 4 not streppin urself in a safety belt..lol..
reached sgh..waited 4 tour guides..hmmm..something weird happened..i suddenly felt v scared steppin into sgh..i noe i did not appear scared..cos i hid my real emotions inside..our tour guide was really nice n he gave us many interesting informations re how phrmacists in hospital work..
hmm..e most scary part was e a&e dept..i dunno y..but e patients there v poor thing but kindda freaked me out..hmm nevertheless..i will rmb em in my prayers..pray dat ey will get well soon..lao niang wanted a hospital bed cos she was tired..fine lao niang..since u wan e bed..u might as well wan 2 get dis complimentary pjs..LOL..can choose e colours..lol..but sadly no purple ya..lol..hmm..but aft dis trip..i feel dat being a pharmacist is damn fun..but stressful..but i still wanna be a doc..earn big bucks n make a positive difference in their lives..lol..

man!dis morning got really bad dizzy..got really cranky..slept 90% of e time..felt like pukin..cs lesson was quite ok during e presentation...it was real funny!i laughed half way..durin presentation..said something like lil mermaid..LOL (wad w ell' i was thinkin?!)..
